CABLE TV TAKEN TO NEXT LEVEL; CONTINENTAL OFFERS INTERACTIVE MENU.

Redefining itself as a ``broadband'' company, Continental Cablevision donned a new name Tuesday and launched a $20 million ad campaign to promote its upcoming interactive television, computer and telephone services.

The country's third-largest cable operator, which US West bought in November, renamed itself MediaOne.

Customer add-ons expected to be available later this year include digital cable television service and high-speed data lines. These lines will allow consumers to use cable modems cable modem

All services are expected to be available by 2000, when MediaOne completes a $5 billion systemwide national upgrade.
