CABLE TV SHOW ASSISTS NONPROFITS 'GINGER' STRIVES TO SERVE COMMUNITY.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - Ginger Mac Donald doesn't host, produce and direct her own public access television show in hopes of becoming a star. She just wants to make the world a better place.

What started as a cooking show 19 months ago, ``Ginger & Spice and Everything Nice!'' has blossomed into a variety show that incorporates community events, health awareness, community group profiles and entertainment in half-hour segments.

Mac Donald said she began the show at the suggestion of longtime friend Emma Scott, who died in August at the age of 94.

Along with food and entertainment, Mac Donald offers free publicity to more than 50 nonprofit organizations by profiling their events and fund- raisers on the show.

The Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  Boys & Girls Club Girls Club is a 2002 American television series created by David E. Kelley, who was also it's producer and executive producer. Only two out of a total of thirteen episodes created were broadcast on Fox Television in the United States and Global Television in Canada. , the American Cancer Society American Cancer Society,

Mac Donald hopes to educate the public on what various organizations are doing so viewers can get involved.

``My goal is to continue making a difference by being involved with various organizations, to help ensure a better quality of life and to save lives,'' Mac Donald said.

The show airs at 8 p.m. Wednesdays and 6 p.m. Fridays on Channel 20.

The next episode of ``Ginger & Spice,'' airing Wednesday, will tell the story of a man whose life was saved when his brother donated a kidney. Mac Donald hopes to convey the importance of being an organ donor organ donor Transplantation A person/cadaver that donates his/her  organ(s) to a recipient .

``If 5 percent of people would (list themselves as) living donors on their drivers' licenses, the need for organs would be met,'' she said. ``In my show, you'll see the incision, the recovery and the loving bond between the two brothers.''

Mac Donald started out with no prior experience in the television business but now is enrolled in the Media Arts program at College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. . She continues to make more shows while she works on her degree.

Future episodes of ``Ginger & Spice'' will feature the annual Bella Via street chalk festival, Mac Donald strolling down a Venice Beach and there will be several shows celebrating the upcoming holidays.
