CABLE TV ADDING SOUNDS 6 NEW FORMATS SLATED.

SUNLAND - The nation's largest provider of audio programming to the television cable industry announced Thursday the launch of six new audio cable networks in the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

The sports channel Sports channels are television specialty channels (usually available exclusively through cable and satellite) broadcast sporting events, usually live, and when not broadcasting events, sports news and other related programming.  features a national call-in program, while lifestyle programs include a cooking show with chef Piero Biondi. Among the talk shows that can be heard are those hosted by Bob Dornan, Oliver North and Michael Savage.

Time Warner Cable spokesman Deane Levenworth said the niche-oriented audio channels have proven to be increasingly popular with customers over the years.

``These new offerings will provide our customers with even more genre- specific listening choices,'' Levenworth said. ``People love these channels because they have such a fantastic selection of different channels and are commercial-free.''

Time Warner Cable which has approximately 125,000 customers in the West Valley.

CRN is a 24-hour audio network founded by Horn in 1983 as an all-music channel. Its programming can be accessed on cable television, satellite dishes, the Internet and various radio stations throughout the country, where it reaches more than 26 million households, including 11 million cable television customers.

The expanded audio programming will also be on Cox Communications cable systems from Southern California to Las Vegas.
