CABLE SERVICE PLANS NEW LOOK; JONES TO INCREASE COSTS, CHANNELS TO SUBSCRIBERS IN A.V.Byline: Jim Skeen Daily News Staff Writer Jones Intercable Jones Intercable was a Cable TV company founded by Glenn Jones. Jones, already a cable television veteran, bought his first cable system in Georgetown, Colorado after taking a $400 loan on his Volkswagen. Effective April 1, monthly rates for limited basic service will increase from $14.51 to $15.28. The monthly rate for expanded basic service, which is an additional charge for subscribers, will go from $13.35 to $14.12. ``Rate increases are certainly not something we like to do and we explore all of our options very carefully before implementation,'' said Bill Rivas, marketing manager for Jones Intercable. ``We have been extremely creative this year and will be repacking our pay-premium service so that some of our customers may experience a rate decrease.'' Jones Intercable officials said they are raising rates because of increases in business costs, including programming rates charged by satellite networks. The company last raised Antelope Valley rates in April 1997. Also effective April 1, Jones Intercable will add Romance Classics to the basic-cable tier, the HBO Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) A form of oxygen therapy in which the patient breathes oxygen in a pressurized chamber.
