Well-known from his years hosting a public-affairs TV show, Rosendahl was supported by nine City Council members and a long list of state and local politicians. Krisiloff has the support of Miscikowski.

Both candidates oppose the $11 billion expansion plan for LAX and said they would push for more transit development.

Krisiloff criticized Rosendahl's executive position at Adelphia Cable, a company that has clashed with the city over attempts to raise rates and whose founder was accused of diverting corporate funds for personal use.

Rosendahl said Wednesday that he won in most precincts and believes the results was an affirmation of his campaign.

``We have always stayed on the high road. If we're not on the high road I don't want to be on the road at all.''

Krisiloff's campaign consultant, Rick Taylor Rick Taylor(リック・テイラー Rikku Teirā) is a fictional character, acting as the protagonist of the Splatterhouse series of video games by Namco. , charged that Rosendahl was leading a whisper campaign A whisper campaign is a method of persuasion in which damaging rumors or innuendo are spread about the target, while the source of the rumors seeks to avoid being detected while spreading them (for example, a political campaign might distribute anonymous flyers attacking the other  that she was anti-gay.

``I hope they stop their nasty campaign,'' Taylor said. ``We're planning to run a campaign based on our 20-year track record and comparing it to our opponent's 20-year background.''

In other races, council members Ed Reyes, Dennis Zine, Jack Weiss and Jan Perry won re-election by wide margins. Controller Laura Chick retained her job with 81 percent of the vote.

City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo and council members Alex Padilla, Eric Garcetti and Janice Hahn were unchallenged.
