A faulty underground cable along Glenoaks Boulevard was to blame for the 5:30 p.m. outage that affected neighborhoods north of the Ventura Freeway The Ventura Freeway is a freeway in southern California running from Ventura to Pasadena. Glendale Water and Power was able to restore most electricity by 7:30 p.m., Wells said. Officials at the utility could not be reached for comment.

``Nobody was hurt, but we did have a number of rescues from elevators in office buildings near the Montrose area,'' said Glendale Fire Capt.
