CABGs give women quality of life.


American nursing researchers have conducted a study on the quality of life for women following coronary artery bypass surgery, and found they reported significantly improved quality of life three months after surgery.

The women experienced increased satisfaction with their health and functioning, with less angina and shortness of breath, although fatigue was unrelieved for most women.

Most women also reported psychological benefits with lower anxiety levels, less emotional distress emotional distress n. an increasingly popular basis for a claim of damages in lawsuits for injury due to the negligence or intentional acts of another. Originally damages for emotional distress were only awardable in conjunction with damages for actual physical harm. Recently courts in many states, including New York and California, have recognized a right to an award of money damages for emotional distress without physical injury or contact., and a greater feeling of wellbeing, health and vitality. However 25% were still experiencing severe psychological distress three months post surgery, highlighting the importance of continued follow-up, researchers said.
