 spiked a woman's drink then offered her thousands of pounds for sex, a court heard yesterday.

The 23-year-old Swedish student said she turned down bids of pounds 1,000 and pounds 1,500, so John Worboys offered her pounds 2,000. Worboys, who picked her up in London's West End, is said to have given her a glass of spiked champagne.

She told a jury at Croydon crown court that it made her dizzy so she poured it away.

When she got home, she was sick but thought it was the alcohol. She said: "Everything seemed to be swaying. Alcohol would never have that effect on me usually."
