CA-SUPERPROJECT NOW ON SUN'S SOLARIS WITH 64,000-TASK CAPACITY; Availability On Five Major Platforms For Multi-Platform Project Management Connectivity; The Rohrer Group: "CA-SuperProject Is The Only True Enterprise Project Management Tool".

ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 10, 1995--Computer Associates today began shipping CA-SuperProject for Sun Microsystems' Solaris, a new version of its highly successful project management software whose 64,000-task capacity makes it ideal for large projects or multi-project consolidations.

The first project management tool transparently compatible across five platforms-- Solaris, Windows, OS/2, DOS, and VAX/VMS--CA-SuperProject offers the ease-of-use, data consistency and processing compatibility to make it the ideal solution for program and project enterprise management in multi-platform environments.

"Since departments often share projects or resources but use differing hardware platforms, clients can continue using CA-SuperProject as they rightsize and realize gains in efficiency without the costly waste of re-training, incompatibility or inconsistency," says Marc Sokol, CA vice president for product strategy. "Users across platforms can share project files or directly open and save the same project files over the same network--all without a second thought since the project files are transparently compatible."

Users and analyst reaction is extremely positive:

"CA-SuperProject is the only true enterprise project management tool," said Paul Rohrer, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of The Rohrer Group Limited and publisher of Systems, Selections and Uses, of Mercer Island, WA. "CA-SuperProject combines ease-of-use without giving up powerful resourcing and cost management features, making CA the new leader in project management."

"One of the true strengths of CA-SuperProject is its ability to run in both the PC and Unix environments," said Terry A. Fisher, director of development operations and processes at Bell & Howell in Seven Hills, Ohio Seven Hills is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 12,080 at the 2000 census. The city's chief claim to fame is its status as the onetime residence of "former Seven Hills autoworker" and sometime death camp guard/deportee/Israeli convict John . "We are able to maintain our current investments by utilizing the hardware already available. Our project managers and engineers benefit from learning one project management tool that allows global access to any project file from any Unix workstation, X-terminal or PC."

"Many of my clients use a mix of Unix and Windows workstations and are determined to control their projects using software that reflects all project members," said Lois Zells, president of Lois Zells & Associates in Cave Creek, Arizona Cave Creek is a town in Maricopa County, Arizona in the United States. , system management consultants for software development projects. "They will love the cross-platform connectivity of CA-SuperProject since they will no longer need to struggle with emulation modes or paper processing alternatives."

By running CA-SuperProject native in their system, Solaris users avoid potential concerns with Windows emulators while enjoying inherent Unix advantages such as 32-bit processing, networking, and preemptive multitasking.
