, the company's industry-leading enterprise management solution, has become the first product in its class to qualify for the Microsoft "Designed for BackOffice" logo.

The award of the logo from Microsoft underscores Unicenter TNG's position as a premier management solution for corporations implementing Microsoft's platform and applications technology in large-scale, heterogeneous computing environments.

In qualifying for the "Designed for BackOffice" logo, Unicenter TNG met the following program requirements:

- Runs as a native 32-bit Microsoft Windows See Windows.

In addition to the minimum requirements, Unicenter TNG exceeds these requirements in the following areas:

- Can be deployed using Microsoft Systems Management Server, as well as Unicenter TNG's own software delivery capabilities.

- Provides an agent for managing Microsoft Exchange, and uses Microsoft's SQL Server as a data repository which further increases its appeal to corporate IT departments that are already implementing these Microsoft BackOffice technologies.

- Supports various APIs including ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) A database programming interface from Microsoft that provides a common language for Windows applications to access databases on a network. , MAPI (Mail API) A programming interface from Microsoft that enables a client application to send to and receive mail from Exchange Server or a Microsoft Mail (MS Mail) messaging system. Microsoft applications such as Outlook, the Exchange client and Microsoft Schedule use MAPI. , WOSA (Windows Open System Architecture) An earlier umbrella term for a variety of programming interfaces from Microsoft designed to provide application interoperability across the Windows environment.  APIs and Microsoft's Internet Server API (ISAPI (Internet Server API) A programming interface on Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft's Web server. Using ISAPI function calls, Web pages can invoke programs that are written as DLLs on the server, typically to access data in a database. ).
