C.H. HEIST CORPORATION PROMOTES TWO FINANCIAL EXECUTIVES
CLEARWATER, Fla., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- C.H. Heist, chairman of C.H. Corporation (AMEX: HST), announced today the promotions of two key Heist executives. Richard J. O'Neil, vice president of finance, has been promoted to senior vice president, with duties encompassing shareholder relations and acquisitions. John L. Rowley, the firm's treasurer, will assume the post of vice president-finance.
O'Neil, a Clearwater resident (the location of Heist's international corporate headquarters), is a certified public account, a BBA-degree holder from Buffalo's Canisius College. During the Korean War, O'Neil served as an officer with the U.S. Army. From 1955 to 1960, he worked with the Buffalo CPA firm of Lucker, Kennedy & Felmeden. For the next 13 years, he was with Bryant & Stratton Business Institute, serving as its president from 1966 until 1973. In that year O'Neil joined the C.H. Heist Corporation as its treasurer and member of the board of directors. In 1979 he was advanced to vice president-finance. O'Neil, coming with Heist shortly after it first went public, was instrumental in placing the firm in NASDAQ's over-the-counter exchange and most recently in bringing about the firm's move to the American Stock Exchange. As a member of the board, he currently serves on the Executive Committee, Compensation Committee, and Management Stock Option Committee.
Rowley resides in West Seneca, N.Y., a suburb of Buffalo. A 1966 graduate of State University of New York at Buffalo, earning a BBA degree, Rowley is a certified public accountant. After graduation, he started his career with KPMG Peat Marwick, staying with the firm until 1971, at which time he joined the Heist organization as assistant treasurer at its corporate administrative headquarters in Buffalo, the site of the firm's founding. Rowley was appointed treasurer in 1979. In his new post, he is responsible for personnel, safety, insurance and all accounting functions.
C.H. Heist Corporation is listed on the American Stock Exchange under the trading symbol of "HST".
