C.A.S.H.Systems Establishes US Office; Advanced Low-Cost Counterfeit Detection Equipment Developed by International Leaders of the Security Printing Industry.

CashSystems International S.A. of Lausanne, Switzerland announced the establishment of a business development initiative to set up distribution channels for its products in the US.

While the problem of counterfeit US currency is not widely publicized within the US, it is a well-recognized problem in other parts of the world. CASH brings over 30 years of international security printing and counterfeit detection expertise to the US market.

Although it is not a routinely reported problem, the US Treasury states that $47.5 million in known counterfeit currency was passed on to the public in 2001, an increase of more than 20% from the previous year. This number is expected to continue to grow despite obvious anti-counterfeit measures incorporated in new US currencies.
