C. Stephen Ennis, 56.OXFORD C. Stephen Ennis, 56, of Oxford, passed into the arms of God surrounded by his loving family in his home, and in peace, on November 6, 2009. He leaves his wife and best friend, Brenda A. (Burke) Ennis; their cherished daughter, Molly of Oxford; his 3 sons, of which he was so proud, Christopher and his wife Robyn, of Millis, Keith and Craig of Plymouth; his sisters, Denise McAlpine of Plymouth, very special sister Peggy Masucci of Roslindale, Carol Campisano of Dedham and brother, Robert Ennis of Wrentham; his much loved mother-in-law, Shirley Van Vleck of Worcester; his constant companion, Valentine; Nieces and nephews, cousins, grandnieces, a grandnephew grand·neph·ew n. A son of one's nephew or niece. grandnephew Noun same as great-nephew Noun 1. and aunt. Pre-deceased by his parents, Mary (Feeney) Ennis and Charles Ennis. Steve graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School Xaverian Brothers High School (XBHS), founded in 1963 by the Xaverian Brothers, is a private, Catholic secondary school for males on a 35-acre campus in Westwood, Massachusetts. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. , Westwood and Bridgewater State College History BSC was founded by Derek Stukey as a normal school styled Bridgewater Normal School. One of the first normal schools in the nation, its initial mission was to train school teachers. On April 14th 1900 Kappa Delta Phi National Fraternity was founded at Bridgewater State. . He was employed by Massachusetts Dept of Youth Services and Massachusetts General Hospital Massachusetts General Hospital Health care The major teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School, widely regarded as one of the best health care centers in the world . Steve was a member of the Knights of Columbus Knights of Columbus, American Roman Catholic society for men, founded (1882) at New Haven, Conn. (where its headquarters are still located), by Father Michael J. McGivney. Oxford 4241, and St. Ann's Catholic Church. He loved to garden, spend time with his family and was a fan of his children's sports, the Sox, Celts and Pats. Steve was happiest with the simple pleasures of life, family, friends and faith. The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses and caregivers who provided Steve with so much compassion and care. Steve was blessed to receive care from Dr. James Becker of Boston Medical Center Boston Medical Center (BMC) is a non-profit 581-bed medical center in Boston, Massachusetts. It was created by the formal merger of Boston City Hospital (BCH) and Boston University Medical Center Hospital (BUMCH). and Dr. Jack Kelly of Worcester. The staff from both Memorial and UMass ICU ICU intensive care unit. ICU abbr. intensive care unit ICU see intensive care unit. ICU units, who cared for Steve and his family with dignity, kindness and the true meaning of compassion as they too suffered with us. If the strength of a man was measured by the love he holds for his family, Steve carried the strength of a thousand men. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009, at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., Oxford. Friends are respectfully invited to meet at the church. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Thursday, November 12, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
