 C. KENNETH ROBERTS TO BE ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT
 AND GENERAL COUNSEL OF EXXON CORPORATION
 IRVING, Texas, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Exxon Corporation (NYSE: XON) today announced the anticipated election of C. K. Roberts as vice president and general counsel effective in January, 1993. He will replace R. S. Lombard who will retire after more than 37 years of service upon reaching mandatory retirement age.
 Mr. Roberts, currently general counsel of Exxon Company, U.S.A., will transfer to Exxon Corporation's law department in Irving, Texas effective Oct. 1, 1992. Exxon Company, U.S.A. is a division of Exxon Corporation, with responsibilities for oil and gas operations, other than exploration, in the United States.
 Mr. Roberts, a native of Tyler, Texas, joined the Exxon organization in 1954 as an attorney. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, a Bachelor of Laws Degree, and Master of Laws Degree all from The University of Texas. In his career with the Exxon organization, in addition to increasingly responsible positions in the company's law departments, Mr. Roberts has held administrative management positions in Exxon Company, U.S.A.'s Refining Department. He has also held the position of deputy manager of Exxon Corporation's public affairs department, executive assistant to the president of Exxon Corporation, and manager of the public affairs department, Exxon Company, U.S.A. He was appointed to his present position of general counsel of Exxon Company, U.S.A. in January, 1979.
 Mr. Roberts is a member of the Texas and American Bar Associations. He is a member and past chairman of the advisory board of the Southwestern Legal Foundation's International Oil and Gas Education Center. Also, he is vice chairman of the board of directors of the Landmark Legal Foundation, a member of the American Law Institute, and a member of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation. He helped organize and has been very active in the Committee for Judicial Merit Election (now Texans for Judicial Election Reform), and currently serves on its Legal Advisory Committee.
 Mr. Roberts serves on the Citizens' Commission on the Texas Judicial System. He has served on the Stanford Law School board of visitors, The University of Texas Law School board of visitors, the board of trustees of the Institute for Court Management, and the board of directors of the National Center for State Courts. He received the Reardon Award from the National Center for State Courts.
 Mr. Lombard, born in Panama, in the former Canal Zone, graduated from Harvard College in 1949, and Harvard Law School in 1952 After practicing in a New York City law firm, he joined Exxon's former Venezuelan affiliate in 1955 where he rose to become head of the law department in 1963. After increasingly responsible assignments in the law departments of Exxon Chemical Company, Exxon Company, U.S.A., and Exxon Corporation, he became general counsel of Exxon Corporation in 1973 and a vice president in 1980.
 Mr. Lombard is a director and former chairman of the board of the American Arbitration Association, a trustee of the Practicing Law Institute, a member of the American Law Institute, and chairman of the board of trustees for the Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law at Columbia University. He is a past chairman of the advisory board of the International and Comparative Law Center of the Southwestern Legal Foundation in Dallas, and is a trustee of the Foundation.
