C. Gene Tague Named Executive VP/COO of Schuff Steel, Phoenix.

Clarifying a March 16, 2000 news bulletin announcing the appointment of C. Gene Tague, Schuff Steel Co. (AMEX:SHF), a family of companies providing fully integrated steel construction services, reported today that Tague was named executive vice president and chief operating officer of Schuff Steel, Phoenix, the parent company of Schuff Steel Co.

Tague will oversee sales, estimating and operating activities for the parent company in Phoenix. The management structure at the company's subsidiaries will not be affected by Tague's appointment.

Tague originally joined the company in October 1976, two months after its founding, and served as executive vice president and general manager until 1984. From 1984 to 1999, he was a management consultant for the company. He returned in December 1999 to assume the position of vice president of estimating.

Schuff Steel is a rapidly growing family of steel fabrication and erection companies providing a fully integrated range of steel construction services, including design engineering, detailing, joist manufacturing, fabrication and erection, and project management expertise.
