: RNBO) a leading provider of high-performance Internet security solutions for e-commerce, today announced they will integrate their products to make it easier for network equipment vendors to develop Virtual Private Networking (VPN) solutions.

Specifically, the companies unveiled plans to integrate Rainbow's new NSOC3 Security Protocol Acceleration Chip, announced separately today, with C-Port's C-Ware Communications Platform to provide an optimized solution for moving secure information quickly across a network.

Typically, network equipment vendors devote considerable time to integrating components selected from a variety of vendors. The high level of integration that C-Port and Rainbow are providing between their offerings minimizes this development effort for vendors, enabling them to get VPN and Internet security protocol solutions to their enterprise and service provider customers more quickly and cost-effectively.

Rainbow has also joined C-Port's C-Ware Partner Program. As part of their integration work, the companies have agreed to do joint development of an optimized interface between the C-Ware platform and the NSOC3 chip. In addition, Rainbow will develop a module for the C-Ware Development System, so that vendors can use this hardware development kit to test products in advance of their own prototypes being available.

"Our work with C-Port demonstrates Rainbow's commitment to deliver ground-breaking design solutions to network equipment vendors, while others in the industry are still focused on components," said Walt Straub, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Rainbow. "This design allows one or more NSOC3 parts to be married to C-Port's innovative high speed switching processor, delivering outstanding VPN performance and simplicity."

"Working with partners in key areas, such as security, is central to C-Port's goal of enabling network vendors to deliver wire-speed solutions to their customers more quickly and cost-effectively than ever before," said Larry Walker, CEO and president of C-Port. "Rainbow's new NSOC3 chip represents the state-of-the-art in optimized IPSec performance, and provides an excellent choice for network vendors developing VPN and other Internet security protocol solutions."

The NSOC3 is the newest high performance integrated circuit in Rainbow's NetSwift family architecture. NSOC3 provides security protocol acceleration for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  providers of VPN hardware products and capabilities. The NSOC3's scalable architecture provides cryptographic processing at the OC3 data rate of 155Mb/s accelerating routers, firewalls, switches and other network devices.

Optimized for rapid processing of IPSec packets, the NSOC3 architecture performs different cryptographic operations associated with single IPSec packets in parallel. IPSec packet throughput is maximized by NSOC3, ensuring that performance is less dependent upon packet size.

The C-Ware communications platform is a three-tiered architecture that consists of state-of-the-art micro-multiprocessor technology, industrial-strength software components, and an advanced development environment, all specially tailored to the needs of the communications industry. The C-Ware platform enables vendors to develop high-speed networking products quickly and cost-effectively, shrinking their development cycles and freeing them to concentrate on delivering innovative features and services for their enterprise and service provider customers.
