C-Port Corporation Names John F. Gavin as Chief Financial Officer.


NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 1999--C-Port(TM) Corporation, the pioneering communications platform company, today announced that John F. Gavin has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer. He joins the company from Compaq(R) Computer/Digital Equipment Corporation(TM), where he was most recently vice president of Finance for North America. Previously, he was vice president of Finance for Digital's Semiconductor Business.

Mr. Gavin brings over 15 years of experience in high-tech finance to his new role. In addition to his most recent position at Compaq/Digital, he was senior finance staff member for North America on the Compaq/Digital integration team. He also held several senior finance positions at Digital, where he played a key role in the growth and development of Digital's Semiconductor Business Unit; co-developed and managed the construction of Digital's premier state-of-the-art wafer fabrication facility; and played a role in many strategic transactions, including the sale of Digital's semiconductor manufacturing unit to Intel(R) Corporation.
