C-MAC's Automotive Microcircuits Manufacturing Operation in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Awarded QS-9000 Certification, the Quality Stamp for hte Automotive Industry.

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1998--C-MAC INDUSTRY (ME:CMS.)(TSE:CMS.) C-MAC Industries Inc. is proud to announce that its Microcircuits automotive manufacturing operation located in Sherbrooke, Quebec (Canada) has been awarded QS-9000 certification by QMI (Quality Management Institute), a worldwide recognized quality system certification company.

C-MAC enhanced its quality system by complying with the guidelines of the automotive quality system QS-9000, which encompasses ISO-9000 and adds a focus on continuous improvement as well as elements relating to the overall product development process. QS-9000 is the quality system industry standard of excellence that vendors must have if they wish to continue to supply the automotive industry.

QS-9000 was jointly developed by a Ford / Chrysler / General Motors Supplier Quality Requirements Task Force to harmonize the fundamental quality system expectations of the three major North American auto-makers.
