), a global provider of broadband communications products, software systems, and high-end technical services, will team with Evertz Microsystems Ltd., a worldwide broadcast equipment manufacturer, at the April 7-10, 2003 NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, to present the latest advances in HDTV (High Definition TV) A set of digital television (DTV) standards that offer the highest resolution and sharpest picture. Although some HDTV sets are available in standard (rather square) screen sizes, the overwhelming majority of sets are wide screen, which eliminates  (high definition TV) video transport. With the growing usage of HDTV and the ensuing need by broadcasters, post-production houses, outdoor event providers, and large corporations to transport high-end, studio quality signals between facilities and in the metro space, C-COR and Evertz have partnered to offer attractive solutions for transporting HDTV signals no matter what the bit rate or format.

HDTV Transport Solutions

Visitors to C-COR's booth (#C4308) will see the enhanced capabilities of the Company's DV6000(TM) digital transport product line in offering an end-to-end integrated transport and switching solution for both standard and high definition TV--a solution that maintains high quality signals while minimizing space requirements and cost. C-COR will have on display several products that together support the transport of HDTV from fully compressed SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, White Plains, NY, www.smpte.org) A professional society for motion picture and TV engineers with more than 9,000 members worldwide. It prepares standards and documentation for TV production.  310 signals to uncompressed 1.5 Gb/s HDTV. These products include:

MASI Manhattan Sites (US National Park Service)
MASI Multithreaded Architecture for Software I/O
MASI Member of the Architectural and Surveying Institute
 and DV6102MASI modules that interface

multiple DVB-ASI DVB-ASI Digital Video Broadcasting - Asynchronous Serial Interface  signals as well as a SMPTE 310 signal to the

DV6000 for transport.

-- The Evertz 7707EO-HD and 7707OE-HD modules that optically

transport HDTV signals from 19.4 Mb/s to 1.5 Gb/s.

-- The Evertz 7770CS-HD HDTV Compression CODEC and 7770DS-HD HDTV

Decompression CODEC that use HDCAM Sony's high-definition digital videotape format. It was introduced in 1997 using 8-bit DCT compression and 3:1:1 sampling (see 3:1:1). HDCAM SR (HDCAM Superior Resolution) came out in 2003 supporting 10 bits, MPEG-4 and 4:4:4 sampling (no additional color reduction).  compression, an industry

standard, high quality production format, and interface with

the DV6000 platform to transport contribution quality HDTV
