C-COR's New Era Access and Transport Portfolio

C-COR's access and transport product families will be displayed and their capabilities demonstrated in Stand 448, Pavilion 4. The Company's access portfolio includes flexible, scalable, and reliable AM headend/hub platforms, optical nodes, and RF amplifiers, as well as C-COR's Fiber-to-the-Premise (FTTP (Fiber To The Premises) The installation of optical fiber from the carrier directly into the home or office. Also called "fiber to the home" (FTTH). See PON and FTTC. See also FTP. ) solution for network over the last mile.

Among the access products shown will be C-COR's new cabinet-style node (the OM1220) and fiber-deep node (the OM2000); the CHP CHP Chapter

CHP California Highway Patrol
CHP Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi (Turkish: Republican People's Party)
CHP Chemical Hygiene Plan (OSHA)

There are no optical repeaters or other active devices in a PON, hence the name "passive.  (Passive Optical Network) technology for a high-speed, end-to-end fiber access network solution and includes a full suite of CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) Communications equipment that resides on the customer's premises.

C-COR's transport portfolio featured in its CSTB booth will include its DV6000 digital video system as well as its next-generation transport platforms, the MPS and the PLEXiS. The MPS is the industry's first (and only) L2 based 10 Gigabit Resilient Packet Ring See RPR.  (RPR) system, built to transport IP (Internet Protocol) over Ethernet. The PLEXiS platform uses Gigabit Ethernet transport modules with DWDM (Dense WDM) The term given to wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) when significantly more channels were being added. Since WDM is increasingly more "dense" all the time, both terms are used synonymously. See WDM.

and CWDM (Course WDM) An optical transmission method that is used for shorter distances than dense WDM (DWDM). Also known as "wide WDM," CWDM transmits fewer channels and uses wider spacing between the channels for distances up to 60 km. Wider spacing up to 25 nm, compared to 1.  for true server to hub transport of VOD and high-speed business access.

C-COR's Seminar Presentation

As VoIP (Voice over IP) and HSD (high-speed data) penetration increases, more bandwidth is needed in the upstream. Efficient modulation formats will increase bandwidth within the available upstream frequency allocation. In his presentation on "Traffic Capacity of FP and DFB Optical Return Systems," Vladimir Abramkin will evaluate upstream system performance of an HFC 1. (networking) HFC - Hybrid Fiber Coax.
