C NET: The Computer Network to launch on USA Network and Sci-Fi Channel on April 1 in unique programming partnership; first series "c net central" to receive unprecedented two-network launch.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 1994--c/net: the computer network, a new television programming service focusing on computers, on-line services, video games See video game console.  and interactive entertainment, will receive an unprecedented two network launch Saturday, April 1, 1995 as part of a unique, multi-year programming partnership between USA Networks and c/net. The announcement was made jointly today by Kay Koplovitz, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, USA Networks and Halsey Minor Halsey Minor (born 1964 in Charlottesville, Virginia) is a technology entrepreneur who founded CNET in 1993 (initial plans for the company began in 1992). He is currently investing in new companies via Minor Ventures. , Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of c/net.

The "nested" launch arrangement between USA and c/net includes six weekly telecasts of c/net's first series, "c/net central," on USA Network and the Sci-Fi Channel. Beginning April 1, "c/net central" will be telecast on USA, the nation's highest rated basic cable network, to over 63 million homes Saturdays (9 am ET/PT), Sundays (6:30 am ET/PT) and Mondays (1:30 am ET/PT). Additionally,the program will be telecast three times every Sunday (10:30 am, 10:30 pm and 2:30 am ET) on USA's wholly-owned Sci-Fi Channel, one of cable's fastest growing networks.

The premiere episode of "c/net central" will also be telecast in primetime on USA Network Tuesday, April 4 (7 pm ET/PT).
