C&W tapped to sublease 270,000 s/f BASF building.

BASF has engaged Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., to exclusively market 101 Wood Avenue South for long-term sublease. The 270,000 s/f, Class A building was developed in 1990 as the world headquarters for Engelhard Corporation, which BASF recently acquired. 101 Wood Avenue South is located directly off Exit 131A of the Garden State Parkway, a full, four-way interchange, within walking distance of NJ Transit's Metropark train station. It offers above-standard amenities including a full-service cafeteria, training facilities, a trading floor, covered parking and an executive area. The 10-story structure can be divided for multi-tenant occupancy.

"We are optimistic that 101 Wood Avenue South will be well received within the real estate community--and with good reason," said Cushman & Wakefield vice chairman Robert Donnelly, who, with executive vice president Marc Rosenberg, is directing Cushman & Wakefield's activities on behalf of BASF. "It represents the largest block of available space within one of New Jersey's tightest corporate office markets. With much of the region's institutional-quality, well-located inventory near full occupancy, 101 Wood Avenue South simply is a great opportunity."

BASF will expand its existing headquarters in Florham Park, N.J., to accommodate business and corporate staff employees moving there from the Wood Avenue facility. Business employees serving in BASF's new Catalysts Division will remain in Iselin at 21 Middlesex Turnpike.
