C&W, Cubacel sign roaming agreement.


Cable & Wireless Ltd. has announced a deal with Cuban mobile operator Cubacel to extend international roaming The ability to use a communications device such as a cellphone or PDA and be able to move from one cell or access point to another without losing the connection.  service. The Mar. 6 agreement, signed in St. Lucia, will allow mobile carriers in the 13 Caribbean territories in which C&W operates to access telephone roaming in Cuba Cuba (ky`bə, Span. k`bä), officially Republic of Cuba, republic (2005 est. pop.  as well as Guyana Guyana (gīăn`ə, –än`–), officially Co-operative Republic of Guyana, republic (2005 est. pop. 765,000), 83,000 sq mi (214,969 sq km), NE South America. .

"Customers across the Caribbean can now travel to Guyana or Cuba with their C&W phones and access all the services they would normally have locally," said Lawrence Lawrence.
