Macara Wireless Optimization Service Node (WOSN) Enables Faster

Data to Nextel Customers

The deal marks Bytemobile's first agreement with a nationwide 2.5G packet data network provider.

The Macara platform dynamically improves the delivery of applications and content such as web pages and email over wireless IP data networks. As a result of this optimization, end-users experience accelerated downloads and faster application performance. Concurrently Nextel can reduce costs, simplify the introduction of new data services and expand their network utilization while enabling data adoption and improving subscriber retention.

The Macara WOSN also incorporates advanced networking technology that enables mobile network operators to build intelligence into the wireless data network. Additional services include: subscriber management, enterprise service differentiation and support and advanced networking solutions. The Macara WOSN currently deployed is clientless, resulting in optimization support across most of Nextel's wireless data services.
