By the numbers: industry favors McCain by 2-to-1 over Obama.


An A.M. Best survey of 1,244 industry insiders Insiders

These are directors and senior officers of a corporation-in effect, those who have access to inside information about a company. An insider also is someone who owns more than 10% of the voting shares of a company.

John Sidney McCain III (born August 29, 1936 in Panama Canal Zone) is an American politician, war veteran, and currently the Republican Senior U.S. Senator from Arizona.

The poll showed McCain's support to be slightly stronger in the life/health sector, where he led Obama 67% to 32%. His lead in the property/casualty sector was 65% to 33%. Obama fared better among those who said they worked in multiline A cable, channel or bus that contains two or more transmission paths (wires or optical fibers).  or other lines of insurance, but even there McCain still enjoyed a 51% to 42% lead.

 said "very well." Among those supporting McCain, 65% said he understood the business "somewhat well"; 54% of Obama supporters said that about their candidate.
