Buyers can double the scrappage deal saving; Volkswagen.IT IS very easy to assume that the pounds 2,000 Scrappage scheme is the maximum amount you may expect to have a new car reduced by, but that is not the case. Take Volkswagen for example. They have announced some additional contributions to the Government''s car Scrappage scheme on models across their range. Some will receive a reduction of more than double the Government''s two grand. If you buy a Volkswagen Golf S model you will get a total saving of pounds 3,950 on diesel engines or a saving of pounds 3,250 on petrol engines. This means you can now buy a new Golf S 1.4 80PS 3dr from pounds 10,825.
