This extras-laden DVD version of the film which made Vin Diesel a star is released to coincide with the cinema release of the sequel, The Chronicles Of Riddick.
A starship is forced to crash-land on a remote and desolate planet orbited by two suns. As the smoke clears, the survivors crawl out of the ship's twisted belly and search for a resting place until help arrives.
The planet seems to be lifeless, but, as a lunar eclipse plunges the entire planet surface into darkness, the other inhabitants emerge: pterodactyl-like predators with an insatiable hunger for human flesh.
