Focused Fun with Edmark Singles

-- In Calendar Clock, children learn about units of time by moving forward and backward in an animated movie. Mandy the Ladybug and her animal friends help kids develop an understanding of the units of time -- months, days, hours, minutes and seconds -- and how they measure "real life."

-- In Earth Scout, children fly their own rocket from Trudy the alligator's backyard on a learning adventure around the world to discover and "photograph" continents, oceans, landmarks, maps and globes. Children can print a coloring book outline of any view from the rocket window. In the Question and Answer Mode, Astro-mouse and Melvin the hippo challenge kids to find and photograph specific locations.

-- In Jellybean Hunt children practice both relative (left/right/forward) and cardinal (north/south/east/west) directions by guiding a hungry ant across a napkin full of jellybeans. The screen shows the napkin from the ant's point of view (driver) and from a "bird's-eye" (map) perspective, so kids can explore the relationship between the two.

-- As pictures of plants, animals, rocks and fungi slide down the chute into the Sorting Station, children are challenged to group them by attributes. In the process of sorting these colorful objects, children can hone their observation skills and learn the basics of scientific classification.

-- The Symbol Sandbox can help children build spatial visualization skills and learn the meaning of simple map symbols.
