Customers who travel frequently on ATA (American Trans Air, Inc.) (Nasdaq:AMTR) could receive a free airline ticket.

ATA today launched its "Buy 3 Fly Free" promotion as a special incentive for loyal customers who travel frequently on ATA and plan to do so during the first six months of 2002. By purchasing three round-trip airline tickets on ATA's website at ata.com for travel completed between December 26, 2001 and June 30, 2002, a frequent-flying customer can receive a free travel certificate to any city ATA or Chicago Express (doing business as the ATA Connection) serves in the continental U.S. or Puerto Rico (subject to availability and black-out dates).(a) Additionally, customers who purchase and fly six round-trip flights may alternatively elect to receive a free travel certificate valid for travel to either Hawaii, Aruba, Cancun, Grand Cayman or Guadalajara.

Listed below are some of the general terms of the promotion. Official rules can be found at ata.com:

-- Purchase three round-trip tickets or six one-way tickets on ata.com between
December 26, 2001 and June 30, 2002 (qualifying tickets must be issued in the
same name, regardless of who purchased the tickets).

-- When you have flown three round-trip or six one-way flights on ATA, you can
redeem a certificate for a free round-trip ticket to anywhere ATA flies in the
continental U.S. and Puerto Rico.

-- If you have flown six round-trip or 12 one-way flights on ATA, you can
redeem a certificate for a free round-trip ticket to any ATA scheduled service
destination.

-- Keep your ticket numbers (located on your e-mail itinerary and/or boarding
pass) from each flight for each way of travel (origin and final destination).
For three round-trip tickets, you will need six ticket numbers.

-- Once travel is completed, submit the information via the "Buy 3 Fly Free"
redemption form, which can be obtained by logging on to ata.com.

-- Free travel certificates must be redeemed within one year of issuance. No
extensions are allowed.

between January 15, 2002 and midnight July 31, 2002. The name on

the redemption form must match the full name on the qualifying

tickets. Non-revenue (free) tickets and travel agency free/reduced

rate travel will not be eligible. Black out dates for travel are:

2002: Jan 1-2, 5-6, Feb 14-15, 18, March 22-24, 30-31, April 6-7,

May 23-24, 27, July 3-4, 6-7, Aug 29-30, Sep 2, Oct 24-27, Nov

23-Dec 2, Dec 20-31. 2003: Jan 1-2, 4-5, Feb 13-14, 17, Mar 29-30,

Apr 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, May 22-23, 26, Jul 3-4, 6, Aug 28-29, Sep

1, Oct 24-26, Nov 22-Dec 1, Dec 20-31. Seats may be limited or

capacity controlled. Free certificates may be used by others, but

must be redeemed by, and will be sent to, the original

participant. Certificates will be mailed within 4 weeks of

redemption form submission. Once issued, ATA is not responsible if

certificates are lost or stolen. Free certificates have no cash

value, no exceptions. Certificate for free travel is void if

duplicated, brokered, bartered, purchased or sold. Neither ATA,

ATA Connection, nor any of their affiliates are liable for lost,

destroyed, stolen, or misplaced e-ticket confirmation documents

containing ticket numbers, or lost, destroyed, stolen or misplaced
