Bustronic Invests in Future Amid Industry Slowdown.

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 28, 2002

Bustronic Corporation, an industry leading designer and manufacturer of high performance backplanes, is expanding its high-volume capabilities with several new capital investments. While much of the industry has drastically reduced spending, Bustronic is making large-scale investments in new technology. These investments include a complete SMT (1) (Surface Mount Technology) See surface mount.

(2) (Station ManagemenT) An FDDI network management protocol that provides direct management. Only one node requires the software.

This machine will allow the company to speed up its cleaning process and remove solder residue from backplanes in larger volumes. Finally, the Relex MTBF Software utilizes a Reliability Prediction Engine that estimates MTBF parameters. The software helps pinpoint problem areas, analyze design changes, and enhance overall reliability of the backplane.
