Businessmen to join efforts for resolution of journalists problems.

KARACHI, August 21, 2009 (Balochistan Times): President Indo-Pak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and former president FPCCI, S.M. Muneer has assured that the platform of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry will be used for getting resolved the problems facing journalists. He was speaking at a reception held for KUJ President Javed Asghar Chaudhry and General Secretary Muhammad Amin Yousuf, President Jang Employees Union Rafiq Bashir, by Citizens Social Forums Chairman Masood Ahmed Siddiqui and its Senior Vice Chairman Nadeem Warsi here on Thursday. Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Chairman Pakistan State Oil, Sardar Yasin Malik, Honorary Consul General of Mozambique Khalid Tawab, President, Karachi Press Club, Imtiaz Khan Faran, Chairman the Forum Masood Ahmed Siddiqui were also present. He said the economy of the country was improving. The mark- up rate is decreasing and stock exchanges are performing better, export orders for textile goods have started coming. He said we all would have to play our role for the solidarity and prosperity of the country. For this purpose, it is important that the present Government should complete its tenure. He supported the idea about group insurance of journalists and said that we will try to arrange for free treatment of deserving journalists at Indus Hospital, Chiniot Hospital and Zubaida Hospital. Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan assured that he would present the journalists problems in the Senate. He underlined the need for supremacy of institutions including the Parliament and the rule of law instead individuals. Chairman PSO Sardar Yasin Malik said we all should support an independent media and try to solve the problems facing journalists. He said it is no doubt journalists of Pakistan are serving the humanity and to unearth evils is the real service. Khalid Tawab assured that the business community would move alongside the journalists in fighting for their rights.
