Businessman David Lizarraga Assumes Leadership Of USHCC.

WASHINGTON -- At a thriving 25th Annual National Convention and Business Expo, in Austin, Texas, David Lizarraga, newly elected United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Chairman, assumed his new leadership role and pledged to lead the organization towards greater triumphs and a new era of growth and prosperity.

"It is a new day at the USHCC with a simultaneous leadership change on both the Board of Directors and Administrative levels," said David Lizarraga, "and it is a new day for all that we will accomplish together as Hispanic businessmen and women."

Leading the top U.S. organization that represents and advocates for Hispanic business in the U.S. together with Vice-Chair, Frank Rivera, and newly installed President and CEO, Armando Ojeda, Lizarraga is committed to a groundbreaking year filled with success and opportunity for Hispanic Business to achieve the American dream.

Lizarraga, a native of California and the grandson of Mexican immigrants, is recognized as one of the country's top Hispanic business leaders. His guidance is sought after on issues involving the Hispanic community, business and civic affairs as well as inner-city lending and real estate development. For over 28 years, Lizarraga has overseen The East Los Angeles Community Union (TELACU), a non-profit community development corporation founded in 1968. As president and CEO both of TELACU and TELACU Millennium, LLC, he has created what is now the largest Hispanic business in the County of Los Angeles.

The USHCC represents the interests of more than 1.6 million Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States and Puerto Rico, which earn more than $200 billion annually.
