BusinessSolve, a world leader in resource scheduling solutions, has announced that fast, efficient and reliable resource booking is now being enjoyed by Punch Taverns Punch Taverns plc (LSE: PUB) is the largest pub and bar operator in the United Kingdom, with around 9,500 tenanted and managed pubs. It is headquartered in the traditional brewing centre of Burton upon Trent in Staffordshire. The current CEO being Giles Thorley.  Plc, following its decision to deploy Workspace Manager. The introduction of the resource scheduling system coincides with Punch Taverns' move to a new office on its campus facility in Burton-upon-Trent, and the system replaces the company's former paper and Outlook-based room scheduling procedure.

Punch Taverns is the UK's leading pub company, and it owns and operates a substantial estate of pubs. The larger portion of the estate comprises leased and tenanted properties, with the remainder being managed outlets. The company employs 700 staff in its support centre. Following a move to a new building, the company decided to review its schedule booking procedures for its 31 meeting rooms. It wanted to implement an innovative and dynamic resource booking process that would eliminate incidents of pre-booked rooms suffering 'no-shows', and make available rooms that have been pre-booked but are no longer needed. To make the meeting-booking process as easy as possible, the new system also had to offer the ability to pre-book essential meeting resources, such as projectors, screens and LCDs, for instance.

Having assessed the scheduling products available, Punch Taverns decided to deploy BusinessSolve's Workspace Manager. It was chosen because its flexible interface was graphically-based and intuitive, which made it is also easy to rebrand rebrand

The application also integrates easily with Cisco's network solutions, which was a necessary requirement at the time of deciding which solution to deploy. A further factor that ruled in Workspace Manager's favour, was BusinessSolve's flexibility to accommodate Punch Tavern's booking requirements, and its willingness to develop Workspace Manager accordingly. The attractive licensing model also meant that Workspace Manager was priced very competitively.

Using the 'Campus Resource Booking' system, Punch Taverns' employees now have a variety of convenient options for pre-booking a room or a resource. Bookings can be made via the intranet, or through touch screen kiosks fitted with proximity readers for ID cards, in reception areas and via e-panel touch screens outside each of the meeting rooms. These provide information about the booking, and provide options that enable staff to check-in, extend bookings, finish early or cancel (character) Cancel - (CAN, Control-X) ASCII character 24.  an existing booking.
