DAYTON, Ohio Dayton is a city in southwestern Ohio, United States. It is the county seat and largest city of Montgomery County. As of the 2005 census estimate, the population of Dayton was 158,873.  & RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 11, 2001

BusinessHere Inc., a leading provider of Web-based private label auction and dynamic pricing solutions, today announced that it has been selected as the exclusive Internet auction provider for GoFish!, a public art exhibit and celebration in Richmond, Virginia Richmond IPA: [ɹɯʒmɐnɖ] is the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the United States. .

The idea for GoFish! was hatched by Susan Jamieson, a Richmond resident who had seen Chicago's "Cows on Parade" public art exhibit in 1999. Jamieson suggested that Richmond celebrate the return of the small-mouthed bass -- also known as Rockfish rockfish, member of the large family Scorpaenidae (rockfishes and scorpionfishes), carnivorous fish inhabiting all seas and especially abundant in the temperate waters of the Pacific. Rockfishes are found among rocks and reefs.  -- to the James River James River

and painted by local and professional artists, 120 of the larger-than-life fish are now available for online bidding until October 31, 2001 at www.GoFishRichmondAuction.com. Seventy-three of the fish will be transferred from the online auction and sold at a live auction on October 20, 2001. Forty-seven remaining rockfish will be sold exclusively online. The combined auctions are expected to generate up to $150,000 for 70 charities including the September 11th fund The September 11th Fund was created by the New York Community Trust [1] and the United Way of New York City[2] in response to the destruction of the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001. .

GoFish! is using a new live auction pre-bidding auction format developed exclusively by BusinessHere that allows online bidders to bid for and win fish that will also be sold at the live auction. Maureen Neal, auction director for GoFish!, said, "We looked at Amazon Auctions (Nasdaq:AMZN AMZN Amazon.com (NASDAQ symbol) ), but decided that BusinessHere's customized auction solutions would provide us with the ability to list all the fish for auction online prior to moving a portion of the fish to the live auction. Online bidders will now have a chance to win fish without attending the live auction," said Neal.

"Live auction pre-bidding allows online bidders to enter their maximum bids online prior to a live auction," said BusinessHere chief executive officer Andy Lehman. "At the conclusion of the online auction, high bids will be transferred to the live auction. If high bidders use our proxy-bidding feature, then a representative will bid on their behalf, at the live auction, up to their proxy-bid limit," said Lehman. "In other public art auctions conducted by BusinessHere, online proxy-bids -- which are never revealed to other bidders -- have been as high as $25,000, so public arts groups and the beneficiaries are naturally very interested in this innovative auctioning approach," said Lehman.
