Business leader honored by Italian-American group.

According to the organization, the objectives she has achieved include improving the general welfare of Italian Americans and promoting awareness of the needs, values, strengths and heritage of the community.

"To have received this acknowledgment is a great honor," says Ms. Medaglia.

"I am very proud of my heritage and celebrating this award, surrounded by my family and friends, was an extremely special occasion for me." As a recipient of the award, Ms. Medaglia carries a mandate to continue to create a better understanding between different religious, racial and ethnic groups by focusing on common goals and combating negative stereotyping.

The awards event was held at the Douglaston Club, a city landmark in Long Island City, Queens Long Island City (often abbreviated L.I.C.) is the western-most neighborhood of the borough of Queens in New York City. It is bounded on the north and west by the East River; on the east by Hazen Street, 49th Street .

In addition to receiving the AIH award this summer, Ms. Medaglia was honored by the National Organization for Women (NOW) with the "Women of Power & Influence" award and received the Honorable Mention Award from the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce for her firm's construction of the Trey Whitfield School Trey Whitfield School is an elementary schools in Brooklyn, New York. The school has many activities including basketball, computer, choir, and drama. The grades range from pre-k to 8th grade and there can be more than one class per grade depending on how many students there are.  in East New York, Brooklyn East New York is a neighborhood in the eastern section of the borough of Brooklyn in New York City. It is bounded on the north by Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, on the west by Bedford-Stuyvesant, on the east by City Line, and on the south by New Lots. .
