NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 17, 1996--Business Wire today announced that it has agreed to enter a sponsorship with the 1996 Hampton Classic Horse Show.

The Hampton Classic is the country's largest hunter/jumper horse show. With more than 50,000 spectators and 1,400 horses exhibited, the Classic is not only a sporting event of major proportions, but also one of the most extravagant social events of the summer.

The seven-day event will run from August 25-September 1, and will include riders from all over North America and from as far away as Japan, Great Britain, France and Venezuela. The United States Olympic show jumping team (The U.S.E.T.) always competes as the Classic and many individual Olympic competitors from other countries attend each year.

The Hampton Classic is a 501.c.3 charitable corporation and benefits Southampton Hospital's East End H.I.V./AIDS Center, the Nassau/Suffolk Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the United States Equestrian Team.
