Business Wire Celebrates 40th Anniversary With Scholarship Program.

Business Wire, the leading commercial newswire in the world, said it is kicking off its 40th anniversary celebration with the introduction of a special scholarship program in support of 23 Public Relations Student Society of America The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), based in New York City, is a pre-professional public relations organization. Founded in 1968 by its parent Society, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the organization has grown to more than 9,600 members and 285  (PRSSA PRSSA Public Relations Student Society of America ) chapters.

To qualify for the $1,000 scholarship award, students must be a member of PRSSA, possess an overall GPA GPA

 of 3.0, prepare an essay detailing future goals and aspirations, and submit exhibits of writing ability, research capability and grasp of public relations functions.

PRSSA applicants must submit all documentation no later than Aug. 15, 2001, for the 2001-2002 school year to Michael Lissauer, Business Wire, 40 E. 52 St., New York 10022 or via email to michael@bizwire.com .

Business Wire will announce scholarship award winners in October 2001 at its 40th anniversary office events in designated cities across the United States. It is anticipated that awards will be an annual event.
