Business Wire Announces New Circuit for Investment Opinion News.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1998--Business Wire has created the Investment Opinion Circuit to provide a clearly defined forum for stock-related opinion pieces, buy-sell recommendations, research reports and related news, it was announced Wednesday by Cathy Baron Tamraz, executive vice president of the company.

All investment opinion news releases will be transmitted at 5 a.m. Eastern each business day. The intent is to clearly differentiate these news releases from Business Wire's daily file of corporate news announcements.

The new circuit is in response to the recent proliferation proliferation /pro·lif·er·a·tion/ (pro-lif?er-a´shun) the reproduction or multiplication of similar forms, especially of cells.prolif´erativeprolif´erous

of stock recommendations from a wide range of sources. All copy will be identified as investment opinion and will be subject to Business Wire's usual editorial standards. As with all Business Wire copy, the company reserves the right to refuse copy deemed inappropriate.

"By creating a separate file for market commentary items, our goal is to make it abundantly clear to editors and others that these are not news releases from corporations, but, rather, opinion pieces written about these companies," said Tamraz.

"In addition to disseminating information to the media and investment community, the Internet has made our wire more accessible to individual investors. As such, we saw a need to differentiate these opinion pieces from the news announcements that are issued directly by a company's authorized au·thor·ize
