A year ago, Apex ranked third in Business Week's 1997 listing. For 1998, Apex is one of only two companies to repeat within the top ten. Further, only three of 1998's top ten were in the entire Top 100 listing for 1997.

This ranking of high-growth companies was based upon each company's three-year results in sales growth, earnings growth, and return on invested capital. Business Week's three-year averages for Apex were 93.7 percent increase in sales, 111.3 percent increase in earnings, and 57.1 percent return on capital.
