Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ BOBJ Business Objects SA ), the world's leading provider of integrated enterprise decision support tools, and SAP announced today a software bundle program that will bundle BusinessObjects(tm) software for enterprise query, reporting, and analysis with SAP Business Information Warehouse(tm) (SAP BW(tm)).

The sales and marketing program will target both SAP and Business Objects customers in France, Spain, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The joint promotion between these two companies builds on Business Objects certification of its SAP BW interface in December 1998.

The bundle will offer customers an integrated business intelligence solution pairing Business Objects software with the SAP BW data warehouse solution. SAP Business Information Warehouse comes with all elements required for installation, use, ongoing changes, and maintenance for an enterprise data warehouse solution, including: -0-

--   SAP Business Information Warehouse Server delivered with an
     Administrator Workbench for fully managing the data warehouse
     environment
--   Automatic extraction capability for SAP R/3(R) including a
     generic data extractor for R/3
--   A preconfigured business content including business scenarios,
     repository, multidimensional InfoCubes and preconfigured query
     cubes
--   Business Explorer, a new front-end reporting tool using
     Microsoft(R) Excel 97 and the SAP BW OLAP engine
--   Business Applications Programming Interfaces (BAPIs)

SAP BW also provides the ability to import and incorporate business content such as industry performance benchmarks and other forms of external market information.

Certified for use with SAP BW, the BusinessObjects interface will offer customers the benefits of OLE DB (OLE DataBase) A programming interface for data access from Microsoft. It is a COM object that functions in a similar manner to ODBC, but for every type of data source, not just SQL databases.  for OLAP (OnLine Analytical Processing) Decision support software that allows the user to quickly analyze information that has been summarized into multidimensional views and hierarchies. --   Leverage of SAP BW security and metadata. By utilizing the SAP
     preferred and supported access method (ODBO interface), users of
     BusinessObjects are able to take advantage of SAP BW security

     to perform alternative "slice and dice" and drill-down analysis
     directly against SAP BW InfoCubes. This analysis will let users
     take full advantage of SAP BW OLAP environment and
     performance-enhancing features.
