New Agreement Extends Successful European Marketing Partnership

Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJY), the world's leading provider of integrated enterprise decision support tools, today announced that IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. With this agreement, IBM sales representatives can now better serve the needs of their customers by reselling Business Objects software for query, reporting, and analysis as part of IBM's end-to-end business intelligence solutions.

This agreement expands the two companies' marketing partnership where IBM has been reselling Business Objects software throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and countries comprising the former Soviet Union. In these regions, since mid-1997, IBM has sold tens of thousands of licenses of the BusinessObjects(tm) full-client and WebIntelligence(tm) thin-client decision support tools.

To help companies access, analyze, and share vital customer information, IBM is bundling BusinessObjects with DecisionEdge for Relationship Marketing. DecisionEdge for Relationship Marketing, which includes hardware, software, consulting, and services, is IBM's solution for corporations seeking to better manage their customer relationships.
