Business Objects Names New Vice President of Latin America.

Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ BOBJ Business Objects SA ), the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that it has named Diego Gabriel Gomez to the position of vice president, Latin America. In this position, Gomez will focus on expanding and strengthening the company's presence in Latin America. Gomez reports to Jon Temple, senior vice president and general manager, Americas, and is based in the company's Miami, Florida office.

Gomez joins Business Objects with more than 15 years of experience in high technology sales and executive management in the software industry. Most recently, Gomez was the vice president and general manager for northern Latin America and the Caribbean at PeopleSoft (Nasdaq:PSFT PSFT PeopleSoft (stock symbol)

). Prior to that he held other positions within PeopleSoft, including vice president of international operations, and director of operations, sales and marketing for southern Latin America. Gomez also worked for IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  Argentina and was responsible for building the new Application Business Unit from the ground up within IBM Argentina.
