) has completed a $128 million acquisition of a pool of performing small business loans and other assets other assets

Allied Capital provided $50 million of the financing required to complete the acquisition. Allied Capital's financing was structured as a $25 million short-term line of credit to fund the temporary capital needs of construction loans purchased and loans pending sale, and $25 million of preferred equity to support the future growth potential of BLX post acquisition.

The acquisition has increased BLX's managed portfolio to over $2 billion, and the company now serves over 2,800 small business borrowers. Post acquisition, BLX plans to conduct operations in 47 offices throughout the country. Simultaneous with the completion of the loan pool acquisition, BLX completed its reorganization into a limited liability company structure.
