Business Journal Publications Inc. corrects erroneous article.PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 1997-- Armen Ervanian drops libel libel 1) n. to publish in print (including pictures), writing or broadcast through radio, television or film, an untruth about another which will do harm to that person or his/her reputation, by tending to bring the target into ridicule, hatred, scorn or contempt of lawsuit after The Business Journal prints correction; apology Phoenix businessman Armen Ervanian has dropped a civil action libel suit against Business Journal Publications, Inc., a Florida corporation and owner of The Business Journal, after the publication printed a correction and apologized for an incorrect article that appeared last year. In the correction, The Business Journal stated: "In a Nov. 22, 1996, column written by Martha Netherton, The Business Journal incorrectly reported that a document outlining conditions for the sale of the Viad Tower calls for Viad Corp official Armen Ervanian to be retained as a consultant by any buyer for $250,000 per hear for 15 years. "We have discovered the document calls for Viad, and not Ervanian personally, to be retained as a building management consultant, so long as Viad continues to occupy the building as its corporate headquarters. We and Ms. Netherton regret the error. We apologize for any embarrassment to Armen Ervanian caused by the erroneous article, and any inference that Mr. Ervanian's involvement was other than ethical." Ervanian said he is pleased that The Business Journal admitted its mistake and printed the correction. "The primary intent of the lawsuit was to call attention to this matter and to have The Business Journal admit its mistake," Ervanian said. "Now that this is happened, I am happy to put the matter to rest." According to according to prep. 1. As stated or indicated by; on the authority of: according to historians. 2.
