Intel Corp. has given the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  network infrastructure devices worth roughly $700,000 that will increase capability and security on the UO's computer network. One of the gifts, valued at more than $550,000, is network traffic and application shaping devices to help the university manage its network bandwidth. The second gift, valued at about $160,000, is of devices called Netstructure e-Commerce Directors. These allow web servers to create secure connections more rapidly with remote Internet-connected users.

The Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation has awarded $10,000 to the Family Development Center in Roseburg for its capital building project.
