Cricket Comfortable Wireless has donated 35 cellular phones and 12 months of local service to Sacred Heart Medical Center and 10 phones and 12 months of local service to McKenzie-Willamette Hospital. Cricket valued the donations at $12,800.

Eugene accounting firm Jones & Roth donated $1,000 to the St. John Boscoe House in Eugene, a shelter for homeless girls.

Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation made the following donations in the Coos/Curry County area: $10,000 to the Friends of South Slough to help pay for a classroom at the South Slough Interpretive Center; $7,150 to the Coos County Women's Crisis Center for furnishings for a shelter; $3,000 to Bandon High School for calculators; $2,850 to Coquille Valley Middle School for a climbing wall. The foundation also gave $1,000 to the Lane Memorial Blood Bank in Eugene.

Farmers Insurance Group of Companies has given $1,000 to the SCAR/Jasper Mountain SAFE Center program.

Eugene-based Rural Development Initiatives has been given $10,000 by the Verizon Foundation to develop a Web site. RDI is a nonprofit group that works with rural communities in the Pacific Northwest.

HIV Alliance of Eugene has received a $40,000 grant from the Gill Foundation to support street outreach to high-risk populations.

Oregon Metro Federal Credit Union staff and members donated $1,030 to the New York Credit Union Foundation and $500 to the Pentagon Disaster Relief Fund to help victims and families affected by the Sept. 11 attacks.

The Child Center in Springfield has received $2,000 from Salomon Smith Barney. Also, Trust Management Services donated $4,138 to help fund a teen parenting program in Cottage Grove. Plus, the McKay Family Foundation granted the center $3,500 to buy furnishings for therapy rooms.

The Archeological Legacy Institute has received $34,560 from the Spirit Mountain Community Fund to support student interns working on an archeological Web site.

The University of Oregon chapter of the American Marketing Association has donated $1,000 to the Southwest Oregon Chapter of the American Marketing Association to help finance the group's annual jobs fair.

Hyster Sales Co. of Eugene has donated a pallet jack worth $500 to the Catholic Community Services food distribution center in Eugene.

Willamette Family Treatment Services of Eugene received $10,000 from The Chambers Family Foundation for its child development center and Buckley detox center.
