Department of Consumer and Business Services has developed a Web site to help employers who want to take part in the Preferred Worker Program and connect with "preferred workers."

Preferred workers have permanent disabilities from on-the-job injuries and are not able to return to their regular employment because of those injuries.

The program offers employers incentives, including exemption from paying workers compensation premiums on the worker, wage subsidies from the state for six months, and equipment needed to overcome injury-caused limitations of the worker.
