Business Continuance -- Over One Thousand IT Sites Surveyed.

Peripheral Concepts, Inc. today announced the availability of a market analysis based on a survey of over one thousand IT managers with sites totaling 320 petabytes of disk storage and 1,050 petabytes of nearline tape storage. The survey targeted nine industries. In response to the recovery deficiencies exposed in the aftermath of the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks, the Finance, Telecommunication and Transportation industries have led the way in implementing reliable business continuance systems. Education, Health, and Retail Distribution are poised for major changes in the next two years.

). Most surveyed sites measure them in hours, some in minutes. Those use mirroring and a protection solution that works in real time.

Among the major breakthroughs revolutionizing data protection implementations and plans are the extended use of remote replication, the widespread deployment of SAN's, and the increased utilization of Disk-to-Disk. Sites using remote replication will more than double in the next two years.
