Quarterly profits go up

36 percent at LibertyBank

LibertyBank, helped by improved loan production, has reported a 36 percent jump in first-quarter profits.

The Eugene-based bank said it earned $1.79 million in the three months ended Sept. 30, up from $1.3 million in the year-earlier quarter.

Assets rose 7 percent, to $512 million.

The bank, owned by the Pape n. 1. A spiritual father; specifically, the pope.  family of Eugene, said loan production of $75 million in the quarter was up 93 percent from the same period a year ago. Retail deposits grew by more than $20 million, mainly on increases in business and consumer checking and money market accounts, the bank said.
