The following physicians have joined the medical staff at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene: Dr. Marc Garant is a specialist in diagnostic radiology with Radiology Associates in Eugene. He served his radiology residency at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and completed a neuroradiology fellowship in 1999 at UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Heidi Stuhlmiller, a member of Eugene Emergency Physicians, is in practice at Sacred Heart's emergency department. She completed her residency in June 2000 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., and then worked for Mid-Ohio Emergency Services in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Robert Young, a PeaceHealth Medical Group internist, is in practice at Sacred Heart as a hospitalist. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Washington in 1998. He was affiliated with Western Washington Medical Group in Everett, Wash.

Jonathan Miko has joined the litigation practice of Harrang Long Gary Rudnick PC in Eugene as an associate. Before joining the firm, Miko was an associate with Landman Corsi Ballaine & Ford in New Jersey, where his practice focused on accounting malpractice, professional negligence and claims brought pursuant to the Federal Employer's Liability Act. He also has experience in insurance coverage, toxic tort, construction defect and corporate law. Miko is a 1998 graduate of the New York Law School.

Terry Melvin has joined HBN Inc. in Eugene as president and as a member of the board of directors. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of HBN. Melvin previously served as president of Rosen Products from 1997 to 2001. HBN founder Kevin Corson has stepped down as president and will serve as chief vision officer and chairman of the board to HBN. HBN develops computer hardware and software systems.

KUDOS

The Lane County Dental Society installed the following new officers: president, Dr. Joe Jenson; president-elect, Dr. David Anderson; vice president, Dr. Michael Furgason; secretary/treasurer, Dr. Renee Watts; and editor, Dr. Donald Townsend. Dr. John Robinson and Townsend will serve as trustees. Members-at-large include: Drs. Carolyn Cantrell, Dennis Dunne, Kelly McDermott and Darin Ward.
